Zihuatanejo-Ixtapa, Mexico is considered to be one of the world's best locations for retirement. Whether you just want a vacation home or you are planning to retire: buying an existing home and remodeling or building a new home can be a very trying experience. |
Lack of knowledge of the local tradesmen and material suppliers, combined with a less than fluent grasp of the language can be frustrating. In addition to that, most people neither have the time nor the ability to be here year round to check up on the progress of the construction on a daily basis. |
Having been a contractor and an owner of my own business for more than 20 years in a very competitive Southern California market, I am more than qualified to help a person build a home or put on a new addition. I live here year round, and as a consultant, I can take a lot of the hassle and most of the apprehension out of remodeling or new construction. |

For your security for new construction, professionals will be utilized that would normally (in the USA) drive construction costs through the roof, but are very affordable here. An attorney can be retained to be sure of clear title and all the laws are being adhered to. A certified public accountant will take care of all distribution of payments and bookkeeping chores. A reliable and honest architect will be retained with the owner having a very close working relationship as to the design. |
Bids will be let out and final approval as to costs are always for the owner's approval. Communication is by the Internet and weekly progress reports have photos from a digital camera included. |
The same is true, but on a smaller scale, when a person wishes to buy an existing home and then remodel, upgrade the electrical and plumbing to code, or do an addition. |
| What
I will accomplish for you is to build your dream home and protect your hard-earned
money. Fees will be based on a $15.00 per hour for all work prior to actual start of construction. For remodels and additions under $10,000, a 10% fee of the final costs. For construction over $15,000, a 5% fee will be assessed. Payments for professional services, such as an attorney or accountant, will not be included in the construction costs. |
