Zih Warm Spot

As I watch my friends in the Virgin Islands get blasted by record-breaking winds, I can't help but be thankful for the protection our bay affords us. Even when record-breaking Patricia passed by close in front of us a few years ago, we were barely inconvenienced beyond the anxiety of having the largest hurricane ever recorded looming over us.

What could be different about recent climatic history causing record-breaking hurricanes to pop up one after another during record warm summers, year after year? Hmmmm...

Meanwhile, for most of us who woke up along the Costa Grande of Guerrero this morning, it's just another day in paradise.

The canal offers such lovely views, but unfortunately it needs repairs. The recent rains eroded part of the containment wall. This could cause major flooding downtown if not repaired soon and we get more rains like the other night, but being El Año de Hidalgo I'd wager against any repairs being done until long after next year's elections. #PobrePueblo
