Grateful To Be In Zih

Last weekend's deluge flooded and damaged close to 500 homes and businesses in our neighboring community of Petatlán to our south. A lot of people lost everything and many others will take months if not years to recover. Excessive deforestation in the sierra make the floods worse each time they occur.

Also, to our north in Pantla the oldest woman in the world, doña Beatriz Fuentes Martínez, passed away last weekend at 120 years of age. Wow!

My heart aches for my Crucian friends who are about to get pounded by Hurricane Maria. It took the island so long to recover from Hugo, and they've been working so hard to receive and attend to the victims of Irma from St. Thomas and St. John.

We're expecting more torrential rains in the next 72 hours from Tropical Wave #34, so if you live anywhere in the region stay alert. There's never a dull moment in paradise! :vacation:

About 2 hours after the parade ended last Saturday morning here came the charros! ;-)

A brand new day in Zihuatanejo Bay!
