Playa Las Gatas is CLOSED

Result of hillside development? Lack of ground cover to absorb rains?

The Playa Principal looks the same in front of the restaurants by the museum, and I imagine it's the same at La Ropa by Patty's Mar y Mar and at the Viceroy, places where I've seen the beach wash out on numerous occasions after torrential rains. Never saw it so bad at La Gatas, and it may be that all the roads and constructions have affected the course of the water during the rains. The road to all the condos and luxury homes up the hill at the end of La Ropa is also in really bad shape after the rain. Let's see what kind of attention they get from the city to repair all the damage. I'm going to guess pretty much none. The city gov't is in campaign mode and there are nowhere near as many voters in all those empty luxury homes owned by foreigners as there are in any of the squatter communities they love to pander to. But maybe some influyente can get something done.
