Zih and Be Seen

Today we celebrate 101 years of our Constitución de los Estados Unidos Mexicanos. A much misunderstood and poorly implemented magna carta modeled after the USA's but that contains 699 modifications to the original text, and counting...

So for those of you who were wondering why no schools or banks today and why there have been so many Mexican tourists this weekend, there you are. We call a long weekend a puente. It's always good for our tourism.

After not getting much sleep due to idiots screeching along to blasting karaoke most of Saturday night until dawn, it wasn't easy staying awake to watch the Super Bowl. For those of us accustomed to the fast-paced almost non-stop action of soccer, U.S. football is already a bit of a yawn fest due to its interminable pauses every 5 seconds and a gazillion dumb commercials, which appears to be U.S. football's true raison d'être. But we made the best of it with a truly satisfying and delicious pizza from Pizzas Locas. ¡Gracias Ángel y Edith!

As the sun moves back northeastward along our morning horizon this photo will soon be impossible to take for anyone interested in doing so because there will be no spacing visible between the letters.

Our bay is busy even at daybreak when there are no authorities monitoring the comings and goings of vessels.

The view of Cerro Viejo makes this our best known signature image of Zihuatanejo! ¡Hogar, dulce hogar!
