Glad to see so many visitors enjoying the Guitarfest. From our home we've enjoyed being able to listen to some of the music. It's kind of a shame that I've heard a continuing complaint over the years by locals who say they aren't made to feel welcome to the Guitarfest, same as with the Sailfest. Locals need culture, too. But unfortunately the tickets are too costly for most locals and most everything is in English. Nevertheless, it makes the free concert for the closing night all that much more appreciated.

You need to go sometimes. There is a Spanish translator on the stage, over half of the music is in Spanish, and local Zihuatanejo residents pay 1/2 price. (for the beach concerts each night from 8-11 this is 50 pesos):vivamexico:

I'm afraid you missed the part about the comments being made by other locals, not by me. I'm just relaying what I've heard numerous times, as recently as yesterday by friends and neighbors. Apparently no one has bothered to tell locals they get to see the concerts for half price, and I don't see that important detail mentioned anywhere on their website or Facebook page. Perhaps someone would be so kind as to make that detail a little more public. Here's as good a place to post that as any. I see questions by locals in Spanish left unanswered on their Facebook page. Thus the impression that locals aren't really welcome. Just sayin'...
