Simple as Zih

While city folks spend hours in traffic to go almost anywhere, we thank our lucky stars to have vendors such as don Juan "El Frutero Costeño" who delivers fresh fruits and veggies right to our door. There is also a wonderful woman who sells fruit juices in the morning. And of course we have coffee stores and bakeries on our block. We are also within 5 minutes of the fishermen's market, 5 minutes from the Merza supermarket, and 10 minutes from the Mercado Municipal. All our banks and services are also within easy walking distance. We gave up our vehicle since it seemed to be a magnet for drunks and vandals. This is how we choose to live so as to have a sustainable lifestyle. While we are far from perfect ecologists, we are also far from the overconsumptive unsustainable lifestyle of almost every city dweller living their "American Dream". Too many folks won't even walk 15 minutes to get to the store or the bank. They hop in their cars to go 3 blocks. Choosing a lifestyle that doesn't require long daily commutes in a private vehicle is one small step towards trying to live a rational life that isn't so harmful to the planet.

Not trying to start any debate here, just making a commonsensical observation.

The Ixtapa Marina has such potential, but remains mostly overlooked by too many people.

Don Juan "El Frutero Costeño" offers delicious fruits and veggies mostly from our region.
