Cooler waters and bigger waves make for great sleeping lately, but they waves have also posed some challenges for the workers rebuilding part of the wall at the mouth of La Boquita Canal. Somehow they've managed to get most of the wall done fighting the ocean almost daily, and it looks like they'll be able to save the two coconut palms and a guamuchil tree that were in danger of falling into the canal. Lots of neighbors are extremely happy about this although I'm sure it sounds rather like trivial tree-hugger nonsense to some of you. Ha!

Business is slowing down for most folks as the season for foreign tourists begins winding down. Semana Santa is less than a month away, and it usually signals the end of the season for foreign tourists as Zihuatanejo-ixtapa and most of the coast fills up with inland dwellers mostly from the big cities for two weeks ater which comes the long lull until school lets out in July for summer break.

The spring supermoon was just setting as Lupita and I hit the beach this morning. Morning also found a couple of sleepers on the beach.

Even with the full moon, sportfishing boats were busy with charters this morning.
