Pierless in Zih

Not even a week and I'm already jonesin' to stroll the pier and enjoy sitting on a bench there with my media naranja taking in the scenery and the serenity. It's gonna be a long +/-year!

While the government presumes its cifras alegres that don't represent what they want folks to believe they do regarding our tourism, because tomorrow's Día de las Madres and most schools are closed today, there should be throngs of tourists in our streets, but there's practically no one. I've seen only one family with beach gear walk by in the past hour. I guess all the buses will show up tomorrow.

We awoke to somewhat cloudy skies this morning. Not as smoky as yesterday, and you could smell the humidity. Oaxaca and Chiapas are already getting rains. We should be next in line. Hoping for no deluges, just a nice long and steady light rain would be nice. Anyone want to guess which will be the day of the first rain? Folks used to bet on this stuff around here.

Sunset seen from the walkway at the end of Playa La Madera.

A grateful father and his two daughters with their donated glasses. ¡GRACIAS!
