Huelleando Zih Tortugas

Terrific sleeping weather last night after the winds died down and we could open the windows back up. We had to close them to keep the sand and the dust out until about 10:00 p.m. or so, but then it sprinkled a bit and the winds died down and it turned into a delicious evening for sleeping.

Now if only we could do something about the gawdawful karaoke bar next to Coconuts. I've never liked karaoke bars and I never will. Go howl in your shower if you have to shout off-key, but spare the innocent public. Open air karaoke bars with their rude drunk clients who obviously couldn't care less about disturbing anyone around them deserve the same respect they show for their neighbors.

With the rains finally cooling the temps enough there has been an increase in activity by sea turtles seeking to lay their eggs on our beaches. While I saw tracks on Playa La Madera several weeks ago, up until now I hadn't seen any on the Playa Principal, but this morning it was crisscrossed with tracks. Not sure who removed the eggs, but if I catch any poachers I'm not afraid to confront them and I hope others will do the same. You have to be the change you want to see.

A couple enjoys a romantic evening by the pier.

Morning magic on the downtown beach of Zihuatanejo.
