Quiet On Zih Home Front

The municipal government finally ordered the bars closed. What a difference to be at the zócalo last night and be able to converse in normal tones and enjoy the sound of the surf. Very pleasant indeed.

Our family enjoyed a lovely time at La Porteña being spoiled rotton by our friends there. Many restaurants were closed, and others had very little business. Tables are noticeably set farther apart, and other measures assure that folks can respect the meter and a half space that we call "la sana distancia". The Paseo del Pescador was mostly empty last evening. Off season sure arrived fast.

With the loss of income more people are out fishing for their daily sustenance. The police are also more vigilant to prevent robberies and holdups. But like always, the folks here know we're pretty much on our own as we've always been. More of a problem for some than others.

A pescadora works from a rock to seek her daily sustenance just before the sun rises over Cerro Darío.

Large waves are still hitting our shores.

The streetside entrance from La Boquita to el Puente Blanco has been demolished to put a bicycle path with a ramp. #NotMyBrainfart
