ZIHsmos y Huracanes

It's that time of year again when we get hurricanes and earthquakes. Preliminary reports show the quake to have been a 7.1 with its epicenter in Acapulco. There were actually two quakes. The first a 4.7 near San Marcos, then the bigger one between Acapulco and Chilpancingo. The second one felt pretty strong here in our home in downtown Zihuatanejo. I expect there will be quite a bit of damage from Acapulco all the way to Mexico City and around the region including Taxco, Iguala and Cuernavaca. Replicas continue, and it was felt as far away as Veracruz and Michoacán. Power outages are being reported in the region of the quake.

While parts of the USA seems to be going Back To The 50's, Mexico's Corte Suprema decriminalized abortion today in a far-reaching landmark ruling. ¡BRAVO!

Zihuatanejo's official count of currently active cases of Covid-19 is at 106 today. Locally around 10 schools are back to having classes. People are trying to be careful and abide by the health protocols, though bar patrons cannot be expected to be responsible.

Today was another day of absolutely beautiful perfect weather. A bit warm around the early afternoon, but a brief shower cooled things down a bit.

Keep up with all of Mother Nature's activity on my Zihuatanejo-Ixtapa Weather page.

¡Cuidemos nuestro patrimonio!
