Although the flus shots are much less effective (60-70%] than the Covid vaccine, it makes a lot of sense to get them since the symptoms of influenza and Covid are similar. Bottom line is that if you have symptoms of the flu, you should be tested for Covid. "

I had a "flu" / common cold symptoms in December 2020.
I went to the Covid unit at el Centro de Salud "El Embalse".
La señora Doctóra checked me, and concluded that it was NOT Covid.
She did not think it was necessary to do the test.
Apparently, based on my symptoms she came to that conclusion.
She was right, it ran its course in around 10 days, done deal.
Though, to completely discard the possibility, it would have been a good idea to administer the Covid test.

UPDATE: One could say that la Doctóra en el Centro de Salud was "guessing", but at the least it was an EDUCATED guess, based on her CLINICAL EXPERIENCE attending patients one-by-one in that Covid unit.
Though we have heard and do know that Doctors at times make an incorrect diagnosis.
