Old Development between ZIH and IXT?
On the Picante the other night, I noticed a few large houses on a secluded hillside/beach between Ixtapa and Zihua.
The bartender on the Picante didn't know much, but said some politico tried to illegally procure the land and build houses etc for his cronies, but was found out and now they all sit vacant.
Any background on this>

Sorry I missed replying to this at the time you posted it. I was distracted by other matters at the time.
You are referring to the Majagua development, a deal that involved the brother of former Mexican president Carlos Salinas de Gortari. That brother went to jail on corruption charges and the project stopped dead in its tracks and has sat there abandoned for almost 2 decades now except they built a wall that blocked the view from the "scenic road" and that has somehow been allowed to remain even though I believe a court ruled it violated the law. Apparently there are laws that don't apply to certain groups of people here in Mexico.
