Keith said it so well; I'd not want to add a word to his wishes for her passing on to her reward.
Rob, I know how you cherished her both as a person and for her standing fast for all of the best in Zihuatanejo.
Her passing is truly a great loss in both regards, yet her life leaves a greater treasure which will persist long after the pain of losing her has been eased in the passing of time.

Thank you, Rob. I love this picture. When you posted it the first time, I shared it to wonderful comments from my friends and then realized I had lost it. Now I have it. I am not a religious person, but I do recall that the seventh station is Jesus Falls the Second Tme. I always thought that really spoke to those of us who were not perfect and, falling once, fell again. And the cat made it perfect.

Thanks for looking for it for all of us.

If I am not mistaken, during Semanta Santa you posted a photo of Dona Cari at her Station of the Cross with her cat. I thought that was a beautiful and holy photo. When you have a chance, could you post it again? I would so appreciate it.

And for Dona Cari, may she be with God and may she be at peace after a life lived long and we hope with much grace and satisfaction.

Doña Caritina Galeana Gómez passed away just a few minutes ago. If anyone would like to pay their respects she will be at the Funeraria del Pacífico shortly.

We've lost a best friend and family member.

Zihuatanejo lost an icon, one of its founders and one of its staunchest supporters.
