Driving our RV to Zihua (reply)

Welcome to the board and hopefully to Play La Ropa this year. We'll be there December 1st in our usual spot, 2 space up from Julia. We have been coming there for 10 years, starting one season before there were any sites at El Manglar and we talked Memo into letting us stay in the restaurant parking lot.

Feel free to send us an e-mail for details or particulars. Be happy to talk to you on Skype too if you wish.

Note that every space (there are only 10 besides Julia'a) are reserved for at least part of the winter. Ours for instance is reserved from December 1st to early March and are a couple of others. One regular is there for at least 4 months. Last season it was full most of the time December-February.

What I am saying is that if you know when you plan to be there you should get hold of Edmundo soon to see if you can reserve a space. I do have his phone number and e-mail address. He speaks a little English but is not fluent like his brother Memo (who owns the restaurant).

Mundi (Edmundo) will sometimes forward e-mails to me to translate though he does pretty well himself.

You might find some useful or at least interesting reading in our blog: http://jacksonsjourneys.blogspot.com

Elsewhere??? Try "Our House" at La Barra de Potosi. They used to have one hookup; better there than Z IMHO.

Safety? Common sense. Plan ahead. Short days. See rv.net

Driving our RV to Zihua (reply)

We RV'd extensively throughout Mexico for 6 years- stayed most of the winters at El Manglar. Now we have been in our condo in Zihua for 4 years and live there at least 9 months of the year. Please ask me anything. Also, please consider checking out my book which tells many of our adventures...see the link below or email me.

I realize I am not actually saying much here- I could write a book about it! joke. Seriously, there is just SO much to tell. We took many different routes, stayed in many different places, chose Zihua above all other locations, met so many wonderful people, had a few special "moments" on the road- but always felt safe. The "moments" were always mechanical and there were always many Mexicans around to lend a hand.

I love chatting about our experiences and sharing what we learned and now love. Hope to chat with you soonl

I have been living in el Manglar RV park for over 7 years full time......when I'm not exploring the world sans RV...love love my life here...my 34 ft rig is permanently parked...in fact...the palms and bougainvillea are slowly hiding me from view. Every year many of the same people rent their usual spots for the winter...only a few for big rigs...please get in touch with me via MSG board and I would be more than happy to give info...julia

Driving our RV to Zihua

We have been vacationing in Zihua for over ten years, the first two weeks of November, staying at the Catalina. We love it and are very comfortable with being there. We are now full time RV'ers and are wondering about driving our old 34 foot Winnebago down this year and maybe staying at the park behind El Mangular or elsewhere??? Has anyone done this, what's your thoughts, especially you Rob. Is it safe for us to do...Thanks for any input
