Music of Zihuatanejo's culture (reply)

Zihuatanejo isn't really a "nightlife" kind of place and we sure hope things don't get any worse than they already are. With all due respect, blues, jazz and rock are music of a different culture that I'm sure you can find at home. Here the music of Zihuatanejo's culture is represented by the wandering musicians that roam the beaches and restaurants playing traditional Mexican music as well as locals such as José Luis Cobo who has the bar "El Canto de la Sirena", listed on my Restaurants & Bars page. He also plays at El Pueblito for "jueves de pozole".

Here are my favorite local musicians: Los Romanceros de Balsas. They can be found wandering along the downtown waterfront restaurants. Be sure to ask for the song "Zihuatanejo".

Help us to preserve our local culture. This is more Zihuatanejo's speed.

But if rock, blues and jazz must be had then there are always the tourist trap joints that are especially prolific in Acapulco, Puerto Vallarta and Cancún.
