Any activity at the old Villa de la Selva?

Last December I hiked up the stairs from the beach and walked around the old property. Other than a hundred or so stacked chairs, it was deserted and getting overgrown. Steel fittings were rusting, cracks in the beautiful mosaic floors, broken lanterns, and a sad demise to a once-popular restaurant. Interestingly enough, there was a guy sweeping leaves! Talk about putting lipstick on a pig!

By the way, at the very bottom of the stairs there is a broken down outbuilding that had a kichen, bathroom, barbecue and nice patio. Anybody know anything about it? I believe the restaurant was a home of a prior President of Mexico before becoming Villa de la Selva. Maybe this little building was for bayside entertaining for the ex-President?

It was our favourite restaurant in Ixtapa. Great food, excellent service, reasonable prices and a spectacular setting. It's still hard to believe that it closed and has been left to to fall into disrepair like so many other places have. We keep hoping it will be revived before it is too late
