I hope everyone is OK after the biblical rains of last night and this morning. The ground is totally saturated and water seeped through our floor during the storm. The canal also overflowed and flooded much of the downtown area. Probably not a good idea to be out driving if you don’t have to due to flooding and debris and invisible hazards on the roads and streets. Stay safe!

This is what formed up right on top of us last night. Lots of flooding and landslides and it's still raining. We're under the blue dot.

Gingo Viejo, I would error on the safe side and assume the roads are not ok. Mail service is suspended (probably no mail arriving)and CFE office is closed.
I would also think there may be some bridges damaged.Wait some days until word arrives concerning road conditions. :)

Ha! It ain't going to happen. No way am I wandering over there during a deluge in the middle of the night to snap photos. And when it's overflowing is when I'm busy at home trying to keep the water out. The closest I'll ever get are the photos I took right AFTER it overflowed and the water began to subside from a few years ago.

This drainage tube works in reverse when the water gets just a little bit higher. That's what I mean by the canal overflowing. Not spilling over its walls.
