I think there is a Dish satellite TV company here? Any other thoughts on a resource for Sat. TV and SAT Internet.

I believe that Sky TV is in Zihuatanejo, and Dish Network is available if you have a U.S. Account and bring your receiver down, having a larger Dish installed in Zihua.

I have SKY cable in La Barra but very limited English channels. DISH is in Z but don't know if their SAT has many English channels.

If it is Dish, then you should be able to select Local U.S. packages I.E. The standard four CBS ABC FOX NBC for a certain area.

I changed from Sky to Dish a year ago, so believe me when I say that Dish in their mid-priced pkg. has less in English than did Sky. The plus with Dish is that you don't have the annual membership fee (or what ever it's labeled as now) of $272 pesos payed over a four month period ($68 added to mo. bill).
Also, Dish can be payed along with your Telmex bill, If you have one. Neither one of them have customer service in English that is worth a hoot, if you should ever actually reach the English department. Good luck with your choice,

Is your Dish on satellite or cable? I need satellite. I think Hushes Net will have to be my Internet Satellite Internet and they are somehow affiliated with Dish. I wonder if the popular satellite offerings have a satellite that has a "path with English channels" over GRO????

If I understand correctly, all satellite TV satellites are in geostationary orbit above the equator so they are all available to Mexico but US and Canadian satellite TV providers do not have broadcast rights into Mexico so they can't legally let you watch the same shows in Mexico as are available back home. Despite this restriction, somehow Mexican sports bars show Canadian Shaw Direct (satellite) hockey games and US satellite as well. I imagine, in the case of Shaw, they have a Canadian who receives and pays the bill without Shaw being aware of exactly where the dish is located.

If I am right and if you are okay with some subterfuge, I don't see why you couldn't do as the sports bars do. Just don't call the Canadian or US tech support phone number from Mexico if you have a problem.

My DISH TV programs is via sat. as was SKY. The only cable I have connects the receiver dish in the yard to the control box inside the house then to the TV.
I've never heard of SAT. TV here in Zihua offering internet services via sat.
But then too, there's a lot of things I haven't heard of!!

for TV sky has much bigger selection of channels and you can get about 95% in english.customer service has an english option as well.most all channels are available in spanish as well, might help you with your spanish.
for internet call sercomex located across the street from clinica maciel and next door to la prepa 13, near unidad de deportiva un costado de la prepa 13. 755-102-7743
they have a great system of line of site off there towers, unlimited service $1500 x mes super fast and very dependable even in stormy weather.most everybody on playa blanca uses them, las palmas and many more.
if for some reason you prefer hughes net they also install that system k-band,expensive and a bit slow, long trip to the sattelite, much better all the way around with sercomex and their network which covers south of petetlan and north almost to lazzaro.
isidro guzman is the engineer that does the installation if you have questions.

I had a Sky satellite dish installed out at Playa Blanca. I had many English speaking channels. They have several packages to choose from.
No issues.
