Are either of these beaches suitable for paddle boarding? O they "open" ocean beaches like, for example, Playa Blanca or Troncones?

everything depends on the conditions that day, but the best sup spots are barra, manzanillo bay and parts of saladita. just pick days with smaller waves.

My favorites would be Saladita...just north of where everyone's surfing ...it is a bay and quite calm and easy to get out from there. Next would be Manzanillo Bay just in North Troncones just before Majahua. Then in the bay in Majahua...just drive onto the beach and park...or carry down from one of the restaurants.
I'm sure it's doable on Buena Vista beach but the waves would generally be larger to get over to get started same as the main stretch of Troncones beach.

I wish you wouldn't encourage folks to drive on the beach. Turtles are still nesting.

And isn't it against the law?

And isn't it against the law?

Yes, it's against federal law. Problem is it has to be enforced by federal authorities such as Profepa, and I think they have a tiny office with like 3 people to cover most of the Costa Grande. This is Guerrero, the state designed so that laws intentionally can't work. Welcome to living on the edge!

WEll...good point!! and when aren't the turtles nesting?? I've never heard this mentioned by anyone..pretty common to drive along that beach...and certainly never saw a person arrested doing it... but we will think twice about that one!!

Good luck even finding the beach in Buena Vista. We did it a couple of years ago. To say the way is well-marked would be an understatement, and I'm sure the local property owners like it that way. If a wild, relatively unspoiled, deserted beach with no services is what you're looking for, this is the place.
