Perhaps you'll find my Local Taxis page helpful.

Villas El Morro is located on Cerro El Almacén, so the normal rate should be $45 MXN.

There's only an additional charge if you phone for a taxi as opposed to hailing one down in the street.

Good luck hailing a taxi for the ride down the hill. Uphill, no problemo.

Heads Up..We have stayed there for the last 4 yrs and really enjoyed it. As far as a taxi ride down it has never been a problem. Just talk to Raymuldo (site handyman) or one of the girls and they will call a taxi for you.

There is also a set of stairs across the street from El Morro (178 steps down). This will take you to the roadway and a short walk to the bridge over the lagoon /canal
and into the waterfront.
:brilliant:

We stayed there a couple a years ago. There was a mix up on our room. He sent us a taxi to take us to another hotel for the night(staying 2 nights). The taxis took us to EL Morro by mistake. Another taxi cab ride later. The next morning he sent us another taxi back to El Morro. We had paid for all the taxi fares and we were reimbursed for the taxis. Because of the mix up, we were given the penthouse at the top of the stairs. Had a patio and large soaker tub. The view from the penthouse was unbelievable. Could open the sliding glass door for the living from and the sliding glass door for the kitchen and there was a wonderful breeze that cooled the rooms. We did the stairs down to the road- nice walk to the bridge by the pier. We would take a taxi back- could take the stairs down but not up. The owner also owns Villa Mercedes and both places have the same returning guest year after year. This past Jan we had reservations for a week at Villa Mercedes when Kathie broke her back and femur bone. He let us change our reservations to Jan 2018 (6th through 13th). Down counting our drive to Chicago on the 5th and direct United flight the 6th- will be 2 years since we were down.
