Workout classes

I'll be down soon and I need to get back into decent shape. I had a bad hip and have not done any cardio/total body type exercise for over a year now. Had a hip replacement in September and am cleared for this type of exercise now. I talked with a guy on the bus from Ixtapa a few years ago, and he told me he belonged to a gym kind of near Sam's Club across the street from Aurora Supermercado. Anyone have info on group classes there or anywhere else? I'll be in Z until the end of March.

There's a popular gym across the street from Bancomer on Benito Juárez street in Zihuatanejo, upstairs from Farmapronto. I would check them out before going all the way over to someplace near the Bodega Aurrerá supermarket.

I had my second h replacement Aug25th. Walking is the best thing you can do to get the atrophy gone. Plenty of walkways. I like the new airport road la Ropa.

A few questions about the new airport road.

If I recall correctly from previous posts it starts just past the Jungle Pizza location correct? It is mostly dirt road right now and has it been finished or only goes for so many kilometers?

Lastly its route to the airport, will it be going past Playa Larga or join onto the Siglo 200 near the turnoff to Coacoyul?

My wife and I walk it often while we are there. I always forget to time it, but to walk to the top where one can see Playa Larga and Barre de Potosi it must be about 45 minutes one way. The pavement runs at least that far. Some road workers were working on the curbs late November when we were there last. It's a really nice walk. We bring a couple bottles of frozen water with us when we go. When you get back to the bottom you can walk right across the street and there is a path (right beside the small motel that I can't remember the name ..J.B's?). We walk it and end up behind La Perla then there is a short side-walk and you are standing on La Ropa. A great way to start the day.

The road is to come out near the old police check on the highway I am told,, so closer to town between Cocoyul and Aqua de Corea exits. From my experience it is 35 minutes to the highest point and about 30 back to la Ropa entrance.

Thanks Dr Curbarn, but I get plenty of walking on the golf course, beach and the daily life around town. I need to get more cardio.

There is a gym close to Sams Club, it is above the Modelorama between Sams and La puente or bridge over to Bodega

yo John vigorous walking is probably the best well rounded cardio workouts you will find, the walking you are discussing is baseline activity. The Baracelo also has an excellent Gym. In ixtapa. My one legged squat count both legs are at 75 count. My exercise advice comes from my next door neighbour who is an orthopaedic surgeon and arranged my surgeries.and is a work out fiend. But please keep poking fun orderly John.
