Playa Larga & Garbage Trucks

1. Can anyone confirm if Punta Playa Larga, the last restaurant at the south end of Playa Larga, is open for business? Don't want to taxi down there, only to find it's closed. Too far to walk back to the Tee.
2. What are the first words of the endless-loop recording that the garbage trucks play? Sounds like either "Secour! Secour!", or maybe "Tecour! Tecour" or even "Checour! Checour!". I've listened dozens of times and still can't make it out. And that little ditty has become a very irritating ear worm. Pity the poor guys who have to endure its ear-splitting repetition hour after hour, day after day. Talk about workers who should be well-paid!

Can't help you with the first. You're the one on vacation. Go have an adventure.
The recording says ¡LA BASURA! Maybe the acento costeño throws you off. Do you speak Spanish?
Yes, they should be paid very well for the work they do. No one working for the city works harder than they do.

No way those two first words are "La basura! La basura!" Your flip response to my first question is no help at all. And you know damn well I don't speak Spanish.

Old son, I've listened to that loop recording more than you, and I DO speak Spanish.
Stop picking fights with everyone, ¿sale? CD69's right. You need a vacation.

I am not ready to wager but I suspect Jack is right at least for the garbage trucks in the colonias.

Ours downtown don't shout anything most of the time, but when they do they just say ¡LA BASURA! Maybe there's another recording I haven't heard for trucks in your part of town. We don't want them making any more noise than they already do, but one of our neighbors suggested they arrive clanging a bell. Since ours pass several times a day, including around 2 or 3 in the morning, many of us didn't think that was a good idea.

These "trash guys" are my heroes, they make a serious effort to clean up after a citizenry ( in Las Mesas anyways) that seems to care nothing about just leaving trash on the streets.
