Has anyone flown Volaris from Chicago Midway to Morelia. They offer a direct leaving at 7am and arriving at 11:32 (a little over 4 1/2 hours). I was really surprised at their prices in Jan- around $225 + charge for bags. We want to visit Morelia and last time we landed there(we had flown from Chicago changing planes in Houston), there was a Volaris loading for their return to Chicago Midway. We love the Express Bus from Morelia to the coast.

Not exactly the info you are looking for, but my wife flew Volaris on one of her trips last year from O'hare to ZIH. She is a petite woman and she complained about the lack of space compared to other airlines. Don't know if they are still offering that flight or maybe it is just seasonal. It was a Sunday only flight. If you are going to Chicago to catch a flight anyway, it would be way faster to take that if it is still offered. 5+ hour bus ride. We took it last winter to go to the butterfly preserve. It was scenic, but can't say I loved it.

It really depends on the plane. We had one flight with knees to chin and another with big leather seats and leg room to spare. You pay your money, you take your chances.

We have flown with Volaris many times and have always enjoyed the soft leather seats and ample space. Be aware, though, you will need to pay in advance online for suitcases. We forgot last year and at the airport had to pay $1,000 pesos for each suitcase, which is double the online price.

What I saw was Midway to Morelia and we were looking for a Sat flight. The site I was looking at looks like they offer other flights than just Sat. We have flown into Morelia 2 times and was on United through Houston. The 2nd time we did the Butterfly Reserve- a one time Bucket List. We fell in love with the Historical part of town- the first trip we stayed at a B&B recommended by members of the Board and the 2nd trip we had to change hotels for ours on a side street we had to move out our 2nd morning was closing and found a very nice older modern hotel by the aqueduct which we loved- good walk to Historical Area.
