While many people are indeed taking healthy precautions by maintaining safe distances, I wanted to grab a stick and beat a woman walking amid folks exercising this morning while wiping her runny nose with a tissue. The whole point about educating people and trying to keep them calm is because it is almost certain that before this is over people are going to be getting physically attacked if not worse for sneezing or coughing in public. That's what hysteria causes and why it needs to be tackled. Residents of Isla Holbox in Yucatán have blocked access of tourists to their island, a condition I suspect will be repeated in other tourist destinations in Mexico and other nations. I'll let you know if I hear of any incidents in Guerrero.

If you are here and get ill and require hospitalization, be aware that our local medical services are woefully inadequate and not expected to be improved anytime soon. In this region of Mexico we fully expect to be responsible for taking care of ourselves, something we have always done and for which reason we are grateful for our culture that prioritizes the importance of family.

Non-essential workers are asked to remain home by the state and local governments as well as by many businesses. More folks continue practicing the government's recommendations, but the government so far is refusing to restrict anyone's right to transit freely.

Still no local cases have been reported.

No children on their way to school, an odd sight at this time of the year.

A beach devoid of people. Extremely odd for this time of year.

Similar to what you saw about the Yucatan there's this at the Arizona border Read Here

I'm living in Juarez right now and crossing everyday to El Paso to work as are many Mexicans. I'm starting to think that's about to end.

Mexico's government is walking a fine balancing act trying not to shut things down too soon. Bars are now closed here in Zihuatanejo, but restaurants are still open, but seating has to be at safe distances. Su Sana Distancia.

We are being careful to keep our distances from others, but are making a point of visiting our favorite restaurants.

So far, we are the only people in them, and tip a bit more than usual to our waitstaff.

We will continue to visit them as long as it makes sense and we are allowed to do so. We do admit that we are forgoing combi's and driving.

Today, we did our normal beach stuff, went to a nursery in La Puerta, then had Chinese food. Met with our guy who will be doing a bunch of construction for us.

We kept our meter apart with everyone and all laughed as we fist bumped instead of handshaking.

I expect to be roasted for this, but lets be real.

do some of your favorite restaurants deliver?

and I'm sure you know it's 2 meters.

I rode a combi today.
Definitely the most dangerous thing I did all day.
Took a shower immediately when I got home and burned the clothes...
