An elderly woman from Petatlán whose son allegedly died of Covid-19 in a Petatlán hospital after visiting Tijuana was in grave condition today in the Zihuatanejo Hospital General.

For some odd reason sportfishing is currently banned but not our regular fishing fleet. Kind of odd since the tourists with yachts in Ixtapa have pretty much been allowed to do whatever they please.

Dr. Hugo López-Gatell again exhorted the public to continue staying home and practicing safe distancing. Though the curve is indeed flattening, it is extending the period which will be the peak of the pandemia in Mexico which is this next week instead of this week as had previously been forecast.

Some Mexican businesses are already making plans to reopen in strategic sectors and implementing safe practices. Local small businesses are however being asked to hang in there for at least another couple to three weeks. For the most part people are cooperating, but some folks are really hurting because they have no savings and live day to day. Hopefully we will see more assistance from the government, especially since they won't be spending tons of money on celebrations for Día de las Madres this coming Sunday. Everyone is trying to help, but it's still a rough time for most people. Please help share what you have if you can.

We had a lovely tuna salad for lunch today thanks to my saint of a wife.

We too are watching the world suffer.

We stay in, shop weekly, and I carry a crumpled 200p note in one pocket for anyone we know, and a 50 in the other for someone who is trying. For me, it's not just someone begging, but someone who is trying to sell something, sing, dance, whatever. I pay big for that.

We went to CAPAZ today to pay our water bill, they have stated that if the bills are not paid, they wouldn't cut off the water.

I was prepared to see someone asking for help to pay their bill with the intention of paying theirs too, but no luck. We were the only people there.

Life is continuing, it's tight.

Please think of those that are REALLY doing without.
