Yes, it is true. I posted the news yesterday afternoon on my Facebook page, and I was going to do so today here but I've been busy and you beat me to it.

Subject is not getting many replies. Hard to think of something nice to say, or easier to only say negative things about the US?

You’re supposed to use the shit-stirrer emoji when trying to stir up trouble. :stirpot:

The only person being a bit negative here is you in your somewhat odd post. But thanks for thinking of us.

Why would Canadians and Gringos comment? Give the poor quarantine-weary slobs a break. It was given to the people of Zihuatanejo and we’ve been responding graciously on Twitter and Facebook. Did I not express sufficient gratitude?

Rob, you are always accusing the US and Trump all the time of something. For once you can now say something good comes from North of the Border for "Z" for help is needed in this area. "Less the soul not be heard".

With all due respect, my esteemed Kentucky brother, I’m 100% confident The Donald had absolutely nothing to do with this, but I’ll dare say Mexico always appreciates when our northern neighbors act like good neighbors. Neighbors usually respond well to neighborliness. Cuba has sent us doctors and teachers for which we’re also extremely grateful here in Guerrero.

Warm saludos, amigo, y cuídense.

Rob, you say you are confident that Donald Trump had nothing to do with the donation? What about this from Wikipedia?:

On March 26, 2019, President Donald J. Trump nominated Landau as United States Ambassador to Mexico.[12] On August 1, 2019, the Senate unanimously confirmed his nomination by voice vote.[13][14] He was sworn into office on August 12, 2019, arrived in Mexico on August 16, 2019, and presented his credentials to President Andrés Manuel López Obrador on August 26, 2019.

Please don’t insult anyone’s intelligence or waste any more of my time and resources with this nonsense. You are free to believe whatever little fantasy you want. Someone gave the idiot a paper to sign with a name on it so he signed it. That has NOTHING to do with the U.S. Embassy in Mexico’s donation. The USA is fortunate to still have anyone seeking a career in its diplomatic corps after the way The Chump and his boot-licker Pompeo have treated these hard-working professionals, using them and their offices to seek personal favors from foreign countries in exchange for U.S. support and assistance, and abruptly firing them or demoting when they correctly questioned ethical, constitutional and legal considerations

Rob, you should know that all Presidents make huge contributors ambassadors as a reward. Example, the Kennedy's were made ambassadors just because they were a Kennedy. This political reward has been going on a very long time involving all the Presidents including your favorite(Obama)- there was a issue when he nominated a major contributor to a very important Capital and he was criticized by both parties yet the nomination went through. Normally there is more to it than just signing a paper put in front of the President. The State Dept. has been complaining over this issue ever since it started.

Rob, we had a Republican Governor(Ernie Fletcher- first one in decades). He started doing the same thing the previous Governors had done, but there was one problem a Democrat was elected Attorney General that wanted to become Governor and went after him. Sad part the Governor was not reelected and the Attorney General lost in the Primary for Governor and wanted his old seat back in the Senate where a person had been appointed to fill out the term. So it appears, we criticize someone we do not like but it is OK if we like someone when they do it. All for one and One for all.

Because the total truth has not come out yet will wait. Some of the post of the incident has been declared not truthful. I have a hard time believing NY Times, CNN and MSNBC. When I read it in the publications I read, then I will decide. To many times they have run with lies and when they are called out will not do a retraction. The media hates Trump and the Republicans so bad they will do lies and when caught not admit it. You have 2 spy agencies with 1 saying yes and the other can not verify if it is the truth.

Except that the Wall St Journal and even Fox have both reported this story. And it's telling that the White House hasn't denied it. It's not proof but a very strong indication that it's true. But assuming it is true, as a vet what is your reaction? Would this shake your confidence in Trump?

Let's put it this way, I hope he was not told as that is the story being pushed. No way could I vote for Crooked Biden(his family got rich with him being in politics and now it was just released how many trips overseas and US Hunter took to get rich off his father- if it is between Biden and Trump if the facts he was told then I will be between a rock and a hard spot- Like Obama, if anything happened, he denied knowing about it and saw it on the news like the rest of us. All I know now, is they are looking for the person or persons who gave the information out. If it is true he knew, Trump will not be reelected and may even pull out before the end of the summer.

Paulf, if the only thing making you uneasy about Trump is his possible failure to act on intelligence indicating that the Russians offered a bounty on the heads of US servicemen, you are, without doubt, beyond the pale.

There's a long history of political relatives peddling influence - Nixon's brother; Billy Carter (Billy beer!); a host of Bushes; Hunter Biden; all of Trump's kids. It's all pretty sleazy but not necessarily illegal, and doesn't necessarily reflect on the character of the politician.

But with this story of Russian bounties it seems like you've finally hit your limit with Trump. I have often wondered if there was a line in the sand that would make you sour on him, and perhaps this story is the final straw. Just today there is more confirmation (and a Senate briefing) that Trump was briefed on this at least four months ago and possibly a year ago. So it's really no longer a question of if it happened but when. And he is still sucking up to Putin.

I can understand if you can't vote for Biden. But it's inconceivable that anyone could vote for Trump. He clearly doesn't have the interests of the US, especially US troops, at heart.

Does Russia need to incentivize the Taliban to kill U.S. soldiers?

If Trump is Putin's puppet, why would Putin do anything to hurt Trump's reelection?

You think Putin plans everything he does around The Chump's re-election? Simple answers for simple minds. This must've been a Faux Snooze talking point.

You want to defend a racist draft-dodging traitor. Maybe you missed the events of HELSINKI. I suggest you replay the video where The Chump does everything but say HAIL THE ALMIGHTY PUTIN, because he most definitely kissed Putin's ass.

If this is going to be your only contribution to the Zihuatanejo-Ixtapa Message Board, I strongly suggest you all e-mail each other if you want to keep this discussion going.
