Zihuatanejo's total confirmed cases of Covid-19 reached 301 today, with 179 recoveries and 44 deaths.

Folks here are anxious to prevent Guerrero from having to close down again. Hospitality workers and service personnel are following and practicing guidelines outlined by the 3 levels of government. The biggest variable remains the behavior of tourists. Everyone here is insisting in a form of enforcement by the government so that tourists aren't congregating without masks in public places, though the beach is a place where it should be fine to sit and walk without a mask on as long as folks respect safe distancing, which on the beach is 4 meters.

This weekend has seen an uptick in the presence of visitors. I hope they're spending money here. Many restaurants are open, and the sightseeing, fishing charters and other tour services are hoping to get some customers. Each day I've gone to the pier in the morning I've seen a few fishing boats with customers, but not very many.

You can send your deposit now to go sightseeing or fishing during the upcoming season. This will help the local tour providers to get through these difficult times and to be better prepared to receive you for your vacation this fall or winter.

Sorry, all the admonishments about masks were directed at tourists so I assumed that these were tourists.
