Zihuatanejo has registered a cumulative total of 957 cases of Covid-19, 68 that resulted in fatalities, 532 that have recovered, 224 people are currently ill with the virus. There are some minor discrepancies between the data from the local government and the UNAM, which uses data from the federal government.

El huracán "Elida", now long gone and far away, was born in Zihuatanejo and gave us a nice two day rain, a good soaker, not too heavy.

The rainy season really changes the entire coastline into a garden of tropical beauty. Everything is lush and green and fragrant with fresh vegetation. A complete and total metamorphosis from just a little over two months ago when everything was dry and mostly leafless and different shades of brown and orange.

Last night was a pleasure for sleeping with a light rain and refreshing breezes. Second night in a row we've had to pull up a light bedsheet for warmth.

Tour guides, fishing charter captains, diving and surf guides are all anxious to get back to work after a cancelled high season left them without any clients for over 5 months. If you plan on coming here for the upcoming fall and/or winter season please consider making your reservations and sending in a deposit now to help them get back on their feet and tide them over.
