Is the jungle rental 'Casa de las Piedras' still around?

Thanks to anyone who knows about this jungle paradise place I rented in the 1990s. It was a rare paradise & I don't see it listed anymore. I do see a place called bambu treehouse which I think was a rental nearby owned by the same owners? & a bit higher on the hill - both above La Ropa Beach. I learned about Casa de las Piedras from a woman (owner?) named Karen (I think) who was from Bolinas? California. She was friends with a woman named Grace.

When we stayed at Casa de las Piedras, we met a wonderful black man with long dreadlocks who helped build Casa de las Piedras.

I have lived all over the world, but will never see a more beautiful place than Casa de las Piedras. I know the jungle paradise may have dissapeared, but I hope not. When I stayed there, we heard the waves from the ocean at night - I saw wild horses frolicking in the jungle nearby, a wild pig ran through & a cat adopted us for the two weeks we stayed there. There were no walls, it was a true 'palapa' experience. There were big spiders in the cabinets we will never ever forget. We were one with nature and it was better than any hotel stay in any country I've ever been to. I hope this place still exists.

If you know anything about what happened to Casa de las Piedras, please let me know. It is a place close to my heart. My email is

Thank you!

I stayed there several years ago in the Hummingbird Treehouse. It was great fun. Interestingly, when I was there a fellow named Thomas stayed in one of the other bungalows(?) who helped build them over nine years before that. Grace Relf is still the owner but only one bungalow remains. Here is the website There is a new development which I believe Grace also owns.
