Tortuga en la tarde on Tuesday

Walking down Playa Palmar Tuesday afternoon I saw a medium size group gathering in front of Playa Ixtapa. As I got closer, I saw a sea turtle heading back to the water. She had just finished laying eggs. The spot was marked with a stick for removal to the hatching pens. Was under the impression that they laid there eggs strictly at night. guess I was wrong. Anyone else ever see something like that in the daylight?

It does happen, we probably see or hear about it happening a couple of times a year on la Ropa. It's not very uncommon to see a female heading back into the water as the sun is coming up.

What a special sight!!!

We've seen a turtle lay its eggs during the day in Ixtapa as well - a few years ago, but it happens.
