We woke to what looked like threatening skies that quickly cleared and became a beautiful day with intense sunshine and immense stormclouds causing fantastic formations on the horizon. But no rain until the evening, so far just a refreshing light sprinkle downtown.

The 37th Triatlón Anual Ixtapa-Zihuatanejo happens this Saturday, meaning there will be road closures in Ixtapa from very early on until the end of the event. See my Community Notices page for the link with details and maps. I suspect the event could be affected if not cancelled due to the approaching tropical weather system similar to last weekend's T.S. Dolores that is expected to arrive by this weekend.

The new Gobernadora-electa Evelyn Salgado Macedonio is promising to disappear Fibazi! ¡Aleluya! For as long as I've been here it's been a useless political trampoline used by unscrupulous politicians and bureaucrats to manipulate and profit from impoverished people and land thieves, especially for their votes.

¡Ayúdanos! #PreservemosPlayaManzanillo

Not nearly as pretty as it used to be, IMHO, but it's what we have now. Way too much cement, no more traditional gazebo, and a ridiculous coconut palm tree orchard taking up what should be open space.
