"Only" 112 active Covid-19 cases are reported currently in Zihuatanejo. Our Hospital general's Covid-19 section was only 44% occupied as of this morning. Still no word on vaccines yet.

Fortunately it didn't rain anymore last night or today (so far) in downtown Zihuatanejo. Gave us a chance to dry out and do some laundry after 4 days of cloudy skies and steady rains.

Playa La Madera was pretty much GONE this morning when we walked there. ¡Sin COCO! :-o

Playa Linda's restaurants got whacked by waves, wind and debris including some rather large tree trunks.

Still no word from La Barra de Potosí. I expect they're still having a rough time with all the water draining from the the flooding ríos and arroyos. Petatlán's government has their hands really full at the moment clearing and repairing roads and dealing with flooding from the rivers, same as Zihuatanejo's.

Lots of rockslides and washouts, and way too many plastic bottles and other plastic crap washed onto the beaches. Pretty depressing to see what the ocean spits back out. :-/

Two pangas from Acapulco were located after they went missing during the storm, but so far the fishermen who were on them have not.

Zihuatanejo's government "rehabilitated" the vado to El Calabazalito, El Arenosito and La Parota in Zihuatanejo's low sierra. What they really need is a BRIDGE to cross over the river, not a better path through it. The road to Vallecitos has also been reopened.

School was supposed to start today in some parts of Guerrero and across the country, though protesting teachers and poor parents unable to pay for the cleanup of their local schools will surely hinder the return to classes. It'll be interesting to see how this develops.

¡Cuidemos nuestro patrimonio!

Someone was busy making cairns at Playa Principal.

Spoke too soon

The rain returned this morning around 7AM and it's still falling steadily in copious amounts.

A perfect morning for chocolate caliente con pan dulce.
