Zihuatanejo continues registering only 10 currently active cases of Covid-19. The Hospital General currently has only 2 patients in the special Covid-19 section, one of whom is intubado. In the state of Guerrero the rate of occurrence is currently 5.7 active cases per 100,000 inhabitants. We're close to getting this damned pandemia under control!

Even after the better part of a lifetime spent in the tropics, I still appreciate our perfect weather and don't miss the cold one bit. Today was another one of those picture postcard perfect days of mild temps and sunny skies coupled with our beautiful verdant tropical scenery and calm oceans. No hot water needed for bathing and no sheet necessary to sleep under.

My family and I are extremely thankful for the delicious meals we can either take out or get delivered from the many excellent restaurants in our part of downtown Zihuatanejo. Man oh man do we eat well!

This is great news to read about Zihua and COVID. I arrive in Zihua on this friday. I just love it there!! Does anyone know if there will be any Día de los muertos celebrations this year? I enjoyed the celebrations in 2019 and of course when I was there in 2020 it was very quiet due to COVID.

A while back we were considering a trip to Patzcuaro for the event. Then, it occurred to me that I am not sure the world (or me at least) is ready for mass gatherings. Fwiw the town is basically sold out of rooms.

Back in our RV days, we decided to spend it in Patzcuaro, that would have been 5 or 6 years ago.

NEVER AGAIN!!!!!! Gridlock, all commercial, a horrible experience and we love and know Patzcuaro well and like it. IF you must go, do your moving around very early in the mornings, before 8:30am. If you go to the cemeteries at night, it's a "show." We watched them pack up on the last afternoon, all exchange notes on Donations and how to do better the next year.

This is a time of serious reflection. It's not a party time, although it seems to be turning into one. It's a time to remember, as happily as possible the loved ones that are no longer with us.

Celebrate it on your own, or figure out a way to be superrespectful and not have to pay to go on a tour to see a show which is what it has turned into there.
