The state didn't post any Covid-19 data today.

It sprinkled a bit last night for at least half an hour or so while we were out taking an evening stroll. But it didn't even wet the pavement, so it still doesn't count as a "first rain". But like the puppy dog's tail after it got caught in the door, it won't be long now.

The weather is still about near perfect. A sheet at night for sleeping remains optional as do hot water heaters (unless you shower in the early morning). It's a bit warm, but once we get that first rain it's like a fever breaks and for a few weeks it'll be nice until we get into the later weeks of June, though we usually get a good strong storm around the first week of July then very little rain until about mid-August. This is the third year we've had the effects of La Niña present, very unusual, and if it continues it could cause us to see less rains on our side of the Pacific and more for the western Pacific. But this coming week certainly appears that we'll see several days of rain according to the forecasts.

Be sure to enjoy locally grown foods and local seafoods in our restaurants. We enjoy a wonderful variety of regional dishes that no one makes better. My wife and I enjoyed fresh fish today that reminds us how fortunate we are. You just can't go wrong with our fresh local seafood (FYI: shrimp is NOT a local seafood).

Busloads of tourists who literally brought everything they need with them crowded the downtown beach and its walkway at daybreak this Sunday.

A couple of my long-range forecasts show a hurricane forming in about 10 days. Hope not.
