I'm done with them...

Went for a late morning trudge up Almacen to take some photos. Decided maybe a cervesa would taste good on the way back so wandered down the drive of Puerto Mio thinking we could pop in for a cool beverage. An employee walked out before I even reached the entrance, looked me up and down and pronounced "Es PRIVATE". The 'boys' were clean and I was dressed in a nice little skirt and matching top. My hair was combed even! :) I'm on Rob's side now...F*$@ 'em.

had a wonderful dinner at Coconuts tonight. I really like it these days. It has been transformed with it's more spare, elegant decor yet with a comfortable ambiance. Alfredo still mans the bar... all is well. Great food too!

We've always enjoyed Coconuts in the past, but when we went there this year we were shocked by the prices increases! Way too expensive for the food quality. Not crazy about the margaritas either...tasted like they had bourbon in em. And what did they do with the fish above the bar? Guess I kinda miss the old Coconuts.

I definitely prefer the old place – the prices, the food, the ambiance. With the courtyard trees so severely trimmed, there are no longer the overarching twinkling of lights and glow of Japanese umbrellas. That was magic.

However, the hearts of palm appetizers on this year's menu are both superb and the service excellent.

Bet you're thinking of another of the dozens of Judys that seem to populate Z at one time or another. I've had the cane for years – a lovely painted one I got at the artisan store next to Bandido's – and I bring it down from Minnesota every year. We both travel well.

The people there better get used to travelers and tourists because they are going to build a pier there for the cruise ships this year at least thats the plans I heard.

Get Real!

Ya, and they're gonna widen the little cobble stone road to 6 lanes with a boulevard to accomodate buses, in addition to a Kentucky Fried Chicken and McDonalds restaurant which will be catalevered out over the bay. At least this is what I heard from a friend of my neighbor’s boss who used to sell construction material to a contractor who’s daughter got married at the Krystal in 2009.

No offense, but you sound like you may be new around here and haven't been reading my Message Board very long. Please take a few moments to use my Site Search Engine to search for "Puerto Mio". Not only are they NOT going to build a pier, but their stupid jetty that was going to be their pier is going to continue falling into the sea and they can't even add a shovelful of sand to stop it because they are prohibited by law.

All their greed and influence buying is coming back to haunt them. Who knows, maybe we'll even be able to recover the beach they illegally privatized and tried to destroy, the one they claim doesn't exist, Playa El Almacén.

Also, there is NOT EVER going to be a cruise ship pier in Bahía de Zihuatanejo. We've had this battle and our local politicians are crystal clear on this because the locals will simply not tolerate it.

Do you or for that matter does anyone have a picture of that beach before it was destroyed?

This is all I can find at the moment. I may have others but I don't have time to search for them right now. Even at this distance you can clearly see a white stretch of sandy beach.

Besides this ecocide and the damage their stone jetty has caused to our bay, they have also ruined Playa Contramar.
