Long Term Rentals and Expat Living

That makes sense, locals have to live on the local economy and of course realtors are looking out for the buyer's interests not necessarily the renter's. I went with a realtor in SJDS for the simple reason I met him online and was looking to buy and he was a great guy. Of course the casa's I did see were in expat communities with private roads and security (some armed). I'm not sure if it's it the same there, I do know that Mexico has or had a bad reputation for violence, I lived in Midland Texas for several years and one did not venture into Juarez, again I'm not sure what the situation is there. I now live in the D-FW metroplex and there is plenty of violence here which is another reason for finding accommodation elsewhere, I was thinking about check out Puerto Vallarta or Acapulco but me thinks it's probably very touristy and not cheap. Thanks for the input, Olsen.
