Excellent! I would be very interested in hearing more details such as cost, who you are purchasing it from and having it installed by.Are you going off grid or using the grid as back up battery etc. I am very interested in doing this on a place I am going to build in zihuatanejo.

On our house here in Montana we have 4 panels that make hot water. It goes into a well-insulated holding tank and flows through an electric water heater, which turns on if the water temperature drops below 120 F. This provides hot water for general household use, as well as radiant floor heat. We also have 30 photovoltaic panels on the garage roof which produce more power than we need. Any excess goes back into the system. Since Northwestern Energy has our politicians in their pocket, we get nothing in return. We decided not to have batteries, since they are quite expensive and don't live very long. We have a back-up generator, but we've never used it, since outages have been infrequent and short. We are only billed $4.10 for the supply charge,
