For Clarity

Since my comments have already been twisted on Facebook by longtime reader Tess who is telling folks I don't want poor people at La Ropa, let me specifically state that this has nothing to do with the economy of folks who go to La Ropa by foot or using local transport if they don't have their own. Folks from all walks of life continue to be and have always been welcome at La Ropa. Our local beef is with tour operators who sell bus trips to La Ropa from the inland cities to folks who can't afford any of the established services there. Besides the traffic chaos, the noise from the buses running all day and all night, the garbage and the use of the great outdoors as a public bathroom, such out-of-synch marketing of La Ropa foments an informal economy that is damaging property values and making La Ropa less attractive for the tourists and longer-term visitors who represent a greater source of income per capita than the tour bus passengers. It has nothing to do with nationality, color of skin or economic level and everything to do with protecting an important market segment of our local tourist offering. Tess asserts I am in favor of "La Ropa for the rich". No Tess, while I may not be as pure a proletariat as you, I just want to make sure that at least some of "the rich" keep coming and wanting to invest in La Ropa.

Thankyouverymuch for your time, ladies and gentlemen.
