And The Zih Goes On

The mar de fondo seems to have returned and it made for some interesting surf sounds to sleep by last night as every now and then there would be these 4 large waves whomping the beach then it would be quiet for a while. Then some more beach whomping and more quiet. Even the drunks were almost benevolent last night except for the bar on Vicente Guerrero street across from Pizzas Locas which has become the worst offender in the area for noise. That upstairs bar is, according to local chisme, supposedly owned by someone related to the local Director de Educación, who's already in hot water for making a public employee work in his home and his private business until she became so ill her mother went public and filed a lawsuit against him for abuse of authority. But I digress...

After a relaxing stroll along the waterfront and a simple dinner at home, Lupita and I slept wonderfully last night thanks to the coolness of the passing storms (though it never rained here) and the music of the sea. We are totally enjoying the calm before the storm. These last few days before school lets out and summer vacation begins and things get rowdy until mid-August.

I wanted to find a photo from roughly 4 years ago and redevelop it to see if it looked any better with the tools and techniques I have now. Looks good to me.

The gentleman singing lost his eyesight some years ago, so his wife accompanies him around to sing at the waterfront restaurants, hopefully earning enough for them to get through another day. These folks seemed to be enjoying a romantic moment by the bay. This is what Zihuatanejo is all about!
