What an honor and a privilege it is to be a part of the amazing Bravo family. Yesterday we celebrated the 100th birthday of my wife's Tía Yoya. She is the widow of my father-in-law's brother Jesús. Much of the family is from Petatlán, though many younger generations are now scattered across the globe, and many of them have married into folks from other parts. There was even another gringo at the event, the husband of Tía Yoya's granddaughter, a professor from Washington DC, if I remember correctly. So many folks came from wide and far to be together for this memorable event. They are some of the most wonderful people I've ever known. Warm, loving, well-principled, well-mannered, hard-working and extremely caring people. It helps to understand that one of the family's most illustrious ancestors was Don Nicolás Bravo, himself a highly popular and respected man in his day, who was 3 times president of the nation after fighting for independence from Spain, among other distinctions.

¡Muchas felicidades, Tía Yoya! ¡Gracias familia por su amor y bondad!
