Oh Say, Can You Zih?

A nice light rain last evening made for great sleeping weather and a cool morning for walking. I think I may have actually purred during my sleep last night. The rainy season is almost over. Traditionally we expect one of two more heavy rains. El Cordonazo de Santa Teresa is a heavy rain that traditionally comes on the 15th. Some people refer to the event less reverently. We'll see if it even happens at all. I learned long ago not to shrug these seemingly superstitious things off. Part of the magic of Mexico.

The Vicente Guerrero school is now nothing but rubble. Heartbreaking.

The ocean has calmed back down, and slowly but surely sand is refilling the gullies left by the heavy rains this past month. The beaches should be in good shape by the time all you winter vacationers return, not to worry.

The fishermen's market was doing a brisk business this morning before sunrise. This part of the downtown waterfront remains the heart and soul of Zihuatanejo.
