Am no economist but the answer to your question is extremely complex. I think you would need to sit down with some heavy duty economists from the IMF or World Bank who could explain the situation in layman"s terms. Even then, you would then have to keep in mind the so called Black Swan theory. That's an unforeseen factor that pops up that puts to shambles all the best laid plans and theories of economists and politicians

As an FYI , 10 years ago the US$ and C$ could buy 10.83 pesos and 9.85 respectively
