Loving Zih

The mayor of Chilpancingo was just forced to resign allegedly owing to the intolerable garbage problem in our state capital that he failed to get under control. Now folks are looking to remove Zihuatanejo's mayor for his apparent incompetence in several areas, especially including public safety. I just hope our local and regional problems get the attention they deserve instead of watching the fortunes of our elected officials go from rags to riches while so many problems continue to get worse in our communities. As our beloved Kapi Bustos (qepd) said so well, what Zihuatanejo needs are public servants with love for their community.

Although we still have another month left in our eastern Pacific hurricane season, it looks like we're passing through a period of doldrums with little to no breeze, high humidity, high temperatures and only the slightest chance of relief via scattered evening rains. Be sure to hydrate yourself well and watch your alcohol intake. This is heatstroke weather.

Which is why my wife and I appreciate our evening and morning strolls, and why siesta is sacred for doing as little as possible. B-)
