The Other Side is not always the Better

I would agree that Facebook is a good civil place to get questions answered without the bickering and political rhetoric. But this site is more fun;-)

I agree. The "other site" provides good solid information very politely but dropping in here is more like going home on Thanksgiving. You don't know what kind of mood everybody is in or where the conversation is going. You don't know who has had a rough day and is just waiting for a chance to let off steam or who has been chugging wine coolers and is a bit chippy. We all know the subjects that will inflame tempers and who will take what side in the ensuing brouhaha. We know who will argue their position passionately and who is chiming in as a way of passing some time and less with the intention of changing anyones mind. The discussion can go on for a couple of days waxing and waning until it fizzles out until next time. I don't think that it's a bad thing to have a spirited exchange of ideas as long as opinions are expressed without demeaning opposing views or belittling anyone.

I'm with you, Ingrid: I prefer the Thanksgiving Dinner site.

Here's a video that warms my heart.
