Last night the Desfile de Catrinas at the zócalo was a huge success. There was a large turnout of people who were having a wonderful time reviving our old traditions. The procession of Catrinas, the ofrendas, the traditional pan de muertos, and especially the Danza de El Cortez are timeless traditions of our region with which we identify much more than with the witches, spooks and goblins of Anglo-Saxon lore. How wonderful to see so many of our beloved friends, neighbors and visitors having such a good time!

Nothing exciting about the morning catch that I could see, but the mercado de los pescadores was a-hustling and a-bustling nonetheless.
