ECOTOURISM

by nadador @, Oregon, Wednesday, November 08, 2017, 17:17 (11 days ago) @ ZihuaRob

I've been traveling to Z since I was a teenager, now upper 30s, married with two kids. Our kids are being raised digging in the sand on la ropa, kayaking laguna de Potosi with mom,

sport fishing with dad on Ramon's boat

(enjoying the whale, dolphin, sea turtle and bird watching along the way).

Our 10 year old daughter just wrote a paper for school describing why tititas are her very FAVORITE food!

The private villa that we rent when we come down is breathtaking, nestled in the jungle overlooking the bay at the south end of la Ropa. The owner and staff are shining examples of the warmth of Zihuatanejo. The flora y fauna on display are amazing! http://www.zihuatanejo.net/zanzibar/

To name a few other adventures to be had:
-Troncones is considered a destination spot for surfers.
-Barra de Potosi is the bird watcher's wonderland.
-Snorkling, SCUBA & free diving offered at a variety of locations.
-The Picante catamaran is an exciting option for exploring the coastline; excellent crew, snorkeling and the SUNSETS!

Whales of Guerrero Research Project is spearheading an ecotourism campaign empowering the community in the efforts to preserve natural resources in the region.

along with Campamento Tortuguero Ayotlcalli (like them on Facebook!)

We love this region as a second home, the appeal of Zihua for our family are all the opportunities to connect with nature, the family centered culture, the authentic cultural offerings at every turn and of course our close friends we have gained over the years.
