More Fishing like a Local

For the last week or so, we have had millions of little fish (that are growing very fast) in the surf zone on Playa la Ropa. For the last 4 days now, the yellow tail, or what I'd call a jack mackerel have been coming in very close to shore and feeding on them.

It's been fun in the mornings while we walk and swim the dogs, watching everyone fishing with whatever they have: throw nets, a hook on line wrapped on a stick, nice rods and reels, lots of things, and many nice fish have been caught.

Today there were two new twists: the scoop net from a swimming pool, and a good sized chunk of fiberglass window screen. We didn't see the scoop net land anything, but the window screen got at least two!

Want to fish? Just get wet and have a good time!
