More Fishing like a Local

A few years ago we had large schools of yellow jack (called jurel) moved up and down Playa Blanca Blanca virtually every day after the schools of sardinos. You could always spot them by the huge flocks of sea birds that followed them because a lot of sardinos threw themselves up on the beach to escape the jural. It happened almost every day and sometimes several times a day.

Then the launchas moved in trailing nets and caught jurel by the boatload. It didn't take them long to wipe out the jurel. I have lived on Playa Blanca since last April and seldom see a flock of even small flocks of birds and no one sees or catches jurel anymore.

Sad, but such is life in GRO and Costa Grande with no respect for laws of others. Is it any wonder they are losing a desirable tourists population.

Thanks for listening while I vent.
